WINGERWORTH WILDLIFE

Welcome to Wingerworth Wildlife

Wingerworth Wildlife exists to protect, preserve & promote the natural world within our Parish.

Bringing our community together, to enjoy it together.

WHO WE ARE

Who Are Wingerworth Wildlife

Wingerworth Wildlife Group was and is formed by villagers who want to protect, promote & preserve the natural world within our Parish.

We were concerned that the changes, both from Man and Nature herself, are/were causing pressures and loss of wildlife & habitat. We grouped together to see if we could help. Though we are becoming more formal and structured, over time, and are a forward-looking group.

We are not religiously or politically affiliated and any or all are welcome. To be with us we only ask that you share our love of nature and take no actions nor support doing nor do any harm to Wildlife.

Any anger to or aggression, rudeness, disrespect or unpleasantness towards individuals or groups is not allowed.

We are here to make things better.

WHY WE STARTED

Why We Started Wingerworth Wildlife

We are so very fortunate. Whether you came to our village because you were born here, moved here today or your family ties go back centuries or for myriad reasons in between, there is probably at least one common reason that keeps us all here and why we love it and make it our home, being, our Wingerworth Wildlife and our Natural World and our Community.

Since 1970 our village has grown from under 3,000 people now heading towards nearly 12,000 souls. It is now the Largest Village in the whole of Europe!

This expansion has put immense pressure on our infrastructure and the natural environment and pressure upon our spaces and flora and fauna (and Fungi!). We think we can help or at least try to.

WHAT IS WINGERWORTH WILDLIFE

What is Wingerworth Wildlife

Wingerworth Wildlife exists to protect, preserve & promote the natural world within our Parish. We will look to identify and report on the good things, the bad things, the odd things and any other things that effect nature.

We will showcase what we have here. We will look to bring all of our skills and experience, skills and efforts to do some good. We will look to bring our like-minded neighbours to become involved in the “do-gooding”, whether you wish to get hands on and muddy or wish just to help around your home or just cheer-lead or support. That’s Great!

We look after Stubbing Nature Reserve, are involved in the Toad Patrol, plant Hedgerows, monitor Flora, Care for the Wildfowl, and so much more. We are friendly and would love to hear from you with your ideas or if you just wish to tell us your concerns.

If you wish to become involved to any degree, please contact us we would love the company.
